CABIDA closes its first auction of forest carbon credits

CABIDA closes its first forest carbon credit auction. CABIDA, the platform promoted by Cesefor, closed its first public auction of forest carbon credits today, October 9th, after two weeks in which it made 55 certified lots and more than 8,000 credits available to the market. The closing of this first edition marks a milestone for the sector: it is the first time the Spanish forestry market has had a public auction mechanism for its carbon credits, a further step towards a more transparent and accessible market for forestry projects of any size. As with any pilot phase, this first call for bids provides CABIDA with valuable lessons, which the team is already incorporating for the next auction, the date of which will be announced soon. CABIDA and the Cesefor Foundation express their gratitude for the trust of the promoters who joined the platform from day one, and reaffirm their commitment to continue working to energize the forest carbon market in Spain.
